Has Technology turned more people into Thrill Seekers?

I think the question does have some merit. With the proliferation of cameras everywhere and the means to be able to share footage globally almost instantly the question does need to be asked. Does technology turn more of us into a thrill seeking, attention soliciting populace?

What I do know is that before Go-Pro’s and the internet, Vadim Makhorov and Vitaly Raskalov’s clandestine  ascent to the top of the Shanghai Tower (the second tallest building in the world) would have remained clandestine.

Just watching this one is a “clencher.”

Just consider the substitution of images and “quotes” (out of context) for sequential narrative and rational argument everywhere. Blogs, twitter, stumble upon etc reduce everything to an instantaneous (often erroneous) “truth.” An ill wind blows for reflective consideration. Reading? What next?
